General History:

Mary Ann Koenig grew up in Southern California. She completed her undergraduate degree in History from the University of North London (now London Metropolitan University) in London, England, and received her Master's Degree in Modern European Studies from Columbia University. She has lived and worked in Israel, Spain, the Dominican Republic and Mexico, where she taught ESL at the University of Guadalajara. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.

Professional: Ms. Koenig worked for 12 years in the music business in Los Angeles in both domestic and Latin music markets. She has written two novels and two screenplays. Her works have been published in the L.A. Times, Music Monitor Magazine (U.K. based) and she has written a weekly column in HITS Magazine, a U.S. music industry trade publication.

Advocacy work: Ms. Koenig is a Nine-year Committee Member for the Henley Ball, annual fund-raiser for NCH (National Children's Home) Action for Children, a U.K. based charity. The Committee is responsible for raising more than $1,000,000 annually in aid of endangered and neglected children throughout the U.K. She has also been a volunteer at Northern Westchester Shelter, a non-profit shelter for battered women in Pleasantville, NY.
