James (Jim) R. Wikert, age 51, was born in northern Iowa. He attended undergraduate school at the University of Iowa, graduating in 1970 with a B.A. in Business Administration. Receiving a commission as Second Lieutenant in the US Army upon graduation, he spent the next six years in military service as an aviator, terminating his active duty service in 1976 at the rank of Captain with an Honorable Discharge.

Interested in aviation, Mr. Wikert flew for several corporations receiving Airline Transport Rating in several jet aircraft, helicopters and sea planes. He has accumulated over 27,000 hours of flying since his solo flight at the age of thirteen. In 1980, Mr. Wikert started an aircraft sales and leasing company named James R. Wikert and Associates, Inc. In 1984, he started an FAR 121 air carrier called Express One Airlines. While managing these companies, he also attended an Executive Masters program at Southern Methodist University (SMU) and received an MBA from that institution. Presently, Mr. Wikert owns and manages a dozen aviation and real estate related companies based in the Dallas and Fort Worth areas.

Mr. Wikert is married and has three children. He resides in Dallas with his wife Alinda and twins Cody and Margretta. His older daughter Lori lives in Park City, Utah. Hobbies and interests include hunting, fishing, golf, aerobatic flying, snow skiing, scuba diving and collecting vintage aircraft.
